Work has commenced on a major new multi-zone activity area at Newcastle Trampoline Park and Gym, which is set to enhance existing facilities and provide new leisure experiences for the local community.

GLL, a charitable social enterprise and worker-owned co-op operating under the ‘Better’ brand, is investing more than £400,000 as part of its ongoing programme of improvements to the new activity zone. Scheduled for completion by 23rd October to coincide with half term, it will feature a host of exciting attractions designed to encourage children, young people and families to get active, have fun and enjoy time together.

Suitable for youngsters from 18-months, with under eight-years requiring adult supervision, the state-of-the-art facility will include a huge strike arena play structure with a sports pitch and interactive target games and brand-new trampoline beds. The centre’s popular Air Bag will remain with a new jump point and slide being added.

Improvements are also being made behind the scenes with the introduction of an online safety briefing video that will reduce waiting times when visitors arrive.

Throughout the refurbishment, the existing Soft Play will stay open for children aged 10 years and under. To ensure inclusive play opportunities continue during the temporary closure, a new Soft Play SEND session has been introduced every Thursday from 4.15pm to 6pm. The sessions are available for children and young people aged five to 15-years with special educational needs and replace the current Trampoline Park SEND session.
